About This Course
Wanting a leadership position and being prepared to lead people are not the same thing. A promotion may change your title, but it also changes what you are responsible for, how others relate to you, and how your decisions and behavior affect the performance of an entire team.
Preparing for Leadership gives aspiring and newly appointed leaders an honest look at what formal leadership requires before they step fully into the role. Participants examine the shift from being responsible primarily for their own work to becoming accountable for the direction, development, performance, and experience of others.
Through reflection, discussion, and practical application, participants explore personal accountability, leadership expectations, different leadership styles, and the challenges of moving from peer to supervisor. The course helps participants determine whether leadership is the right next step and begin developing the mindset and behaviors needed to lead effectively.
